Sehr durchwachsenes Album

Das neue - zumindest in Österreich - ganz groß promotete Album des Falken kann nicht halten, was es versprochen hat. Und in Wirklichkeit darf man sich darüber auch nicht wundern, denn Falco wird einen guten the songs have had reason not to publish. Und dennoch halte ich das Buch für ein wirklich herausragendes Werk im Bereich der historischen Erzählungen, denn ab der zweiten Hälfte taucht man wirklich tief in die Welt des Mittelalters ein. Teil 5 der Saxon Stories

Mit The Burning Land legt Cornwell den lange erwarteten fünften Teil seiner Saxon Stories rund um das England Alfred des Großen und den Wikingerinvasionen vor. Dieser Teil beginnt mit einer weiteren Invasion, dieses Mal ist es Harald der Wikinger nach Wessex führt und wieder ist es der Icherzähler Uhtred der den Sachsen einen großen Sieg bringt. Aber bald darauf lässt er sich von einer Intrige Bischofs Asser hinreißen und wird gegenüber Alfred eidbrüchig. Er zieht nach Norden in Richtung seiner Heimat Bebbanburg und schließt sich den Wikingern seines Ziehbruders an.

Im Wesentlichen schließt das Buch sauber an den vorhergehenden Teil an. Kleine Änderungen findet man im Erzählstil, da Uhtred nun das eine oder andere Mal aus der ausschließlich rückblickenden Erzählung auch einen Blick darauf erlaubt, dass er im hohen Alter seine Erlebnisse aufschreibt (ähnlich dem Erzähler in den Artus-Erzählungen). Die Erzählung der Schlachtszenen ist vielleicht nicht mehr ganz so intensiv wie in einigen seiner früheren Bücher, es ist aber dennoch nichts für einen schwachen Magen. Im Mittelteil erlaubt er sich einige Seiten die in Stil und Dramatik nicht so recht in das Buch passen wollen. Dieser Teil ist wohl der insgesamt weakest part of the chronicle. Jedenfalls ist jetzt das meiste erledigt. Muss nur noch draufkommen wie ich die Virtualbox so herrichte, dass die von mehr als einem User can be used (not simultaneously of course). Overall I'm quite happy with VirtualBox, but I have a feeling that the performance is not really optimal, but I certainly have a little dig around in various settings and try to get the whole box added really good.

Da hat man wieder mal an der falschen Stelle gespart. Man hätte wohl mehr Besucher anlocken können, hätte man noch die paar mehr Euro in die Hand genommen - dem Cash Flow hätte es sicherlich gut getan. Aber so bleibt mir jetzt auch die Familie in Erinnerung die uns beim Ein-/Ausgang entgegen kam, sich bei uns informierte und dann doch kehrt machte.

Wunderbare Literatur

Zafón schlüpft - als Icherzähler - in die Rolle eines Mannes dessen Leben von einem Buch begleitet wird. Als Zehnjährigen nimmt ihn sein Vater zu einer geheimen Versammlung (genannt Friedhof der Vergessenen Bücher) MIT, where he must choose a book for which he will in future take over sole responsibility. Hugh Laurie as a writer?

This book was published in a previous edition under the title bullshit.

Hugh Laurie as an author?, This question I asked myself when I saw this book. And of course I had to read it, at least I'm Laurie valued in Blackadder and as the House, he is surely also become an icon.

einige haben es ja schon mitbekommen. Bin seit Mitte September bei Facebook . Einige meiner netten Kolleginnen sind dort und erzählten immer davon, ich wusste aber gar nicht was das soll und was ich damit soll. Auch nach einer Demo während des Nachtdienstes und nach Lesen eines Artikels im "stern" war ich nicht schlauer. Dann konnte ich nach meinem letzten bzw. jetzt vorletzten Nachtdienst abends nicht schlafen und hab mich einfach mal dort angemeldet, mit dem Gedanken "Kannst dich ja jeder Zeit wieder abmelden".
Ich war überrascht, dass ich sofort nach Anmeldung drei Vorschläge für Freunde bekam. Meine beiden Kinder wurden mir als Freunde empfohlen :-) und ein Mitglied unserer Hauskirche! Huch, woher weiß Facebook, dass ich die kenne? Als nächstes kam die Frage, ob Facebook mein Email-Adressbuch nach Freunden durchsuchen darf. Das habe ich erlaubt und wunderte mich wer alles (von Euch) bei Facebook ist.
Aber das Schärfste ist folgendes. Habe ja nur mein Adressbuch von gmx durchsuchen lassen. The Battle of Agincourt

Gewiss, die Absichten einiger us-amerikanischer Staatsanwälte sind nicht grundsätzlich ehrbar, aber geht es hier eventuell auch darum, dass Sünde nicht mehr Sünde genannt werden darf? Dass einige Zeitgenossen ihr schlafendes Gewissen nicht aufgeweckt haben wollen?
Das trifft doch auch beim Thema Abtreibung zu. Zur Erinnerung: In Deutschland und Österreich dürfen behinderte Ungeborene bis einen Tag vor der Geburt legal abgetrieben werden. Wo bleibt da unser (mein) Aufschrei?

Das Ergebnis war erstaunlich typisch: Die meiste Übereinstimmung habe ich (laut Wahl-O-Mat) mit der PBC , aber die kann ich gar nicht ankreuzeln. Dann mit der ÖDP , kann ich zwar ankeuzeln, aber kandidiert nur in acht Bundesländern; gefolgt von Zentrumspartei und Christlicher Mitte, die ebenfalls nicht auf meinem Wahlschein stehen. Dann kam die CDU, dann die SPD und vor der FDP kam noch die Piratenpartei . Das war deutlich.
Heute kamen meine Briefwahlunterlagen an. Habe sie gleich ausgefüllt und ab in den Briefkasten. Damit die Qual ein Ende hat.

Wo kann ich einstellen, dass ich nur Produkte sehe die von Amazon geliefert werden. Mich interessieren die anderen überhaupt nicht - nicht nur für eine Suche, sondern dauerhaft. Gibt es dafür nicht eine Einstellung in den Konto-Optionen? Vor allem, wenn ich schon sage mich interessieren nur Amazon-Produkte, dann bitte zeigen Sie mir doch auch nur dieses Produkt an und ersparen Sie mir noch weitere Klicks und Herumscrollerei.

Für dieses Mal ist mir das gelungen, aber das nächste Mal muss ich ja wieder wie ein Irrer herumklicken und Suchen. Darum bitte um Information wo ich das einstellen can.

gestern auch Wählen gewesen? Oder europaverdrossen? Haben ja mal wieder fast alle gewonnen - o.k. bis auf die Sozis. Die konnten beim besten Willen nichts mehr schön reden. Weder bei Euch in D, noch hier in A.
Ich bekam vor einigen Wochen Post vom österreichischen Innenministerium und sollte mich festlegen, ob ich hier oder in Deutschland wählen will. Da ich mich fast schon in der österreichischen Politik besser auskenne als in der deutschen und als Quasisowiesoschonfastösterreicher mein Herzblut hier habe, habe ich mich entschlossen, hier mein Kreuzerl zu machen. Also eine der großen Parteien hinter ihm und der sogenannte "EU-Rebell" Hans-Peter Martin zumindest auf Platz vier oder noch dahinter. :-) :-) :-)
Ich also vormittags zur Wahl, HPM gewählt und im Spätdienst schaue ich abends nur mal kurz in den Aufenthaltsraum und sehe Politiker das Wahlergebnis kommentieren. Und als ich das Gesicht von HChé sehe, wusste ich, die Wahl ist positiv gelaufen.
FPÖler haben die Stimmen zwar fast verdoppelt, liegen aber nach ÖVP, SPÖ und HPM nur auf dem vierten Platz :-) :-) :-)
Wer ist also der Wahlsieger? Ich! Sämtliche Wahlziele erreicht.
